Wetland/Environmental Assistance Program

The Delta Conservation District has established a process for meeting with landowners to identify if wetlands exist on their property before a project begins and/or assistance prior to submitting a permit application to the MDEQ/MDNR for a specific project.

The Conservation District has identified Federal and State regulatory laws and associated administrative rules as the #1 most misunderstood issue that private landowners will encounter while doing projects on their land.

Assistance provided may include, but not limited too:
• On-site identification of wetlands and associated natural resources.
• Information and identification of regulatory laws and associated
  administrative rules.
• Assistance with permit applications and associated administrative rules:
     Project purpose and location
     Intended use and alternatives
 Project site impacts -vs- avoidance and minimization
• Project design and lay-out.
• Recommended Best-Management-Practices (BMP).

The 5 levels of wetland services and associated fees are as follows:

• Permit application assistance (in-office only/limited) $50.00

• Meeting on-site (written assessment only) $125.00

• Meeting on-site (written assessment & application assistance) $200.00

• Meeting on-site (written assessment; project lay-out/design;
   application assistance) Starting at: $300.00

• Wetland Delineation Services First acre: $250.00 Each additional
   acre or fraction of: $100.00

• The Delta Conservation District is the County Enforcing Agency (CEA) in Delta County for Soil Erosion & Sedimentation Control. If any wetland project also requires a Soil & Erosion Permit the above charged fees will be reduced accordingly.
